Counterpart International is looking for a Commodities Manager for its anticipated USDA-funded McGovern-Dole Food for Education program in Malawi. Under the supervision of Deputy Chief of Party, the Commodities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of USDA imported and locally procured food, from the arrival of food to its final distribution, including receipt, handling, storage, transport, loss management and reporting, as well as oversight of the Local or Regional Procurement Officer.
He/she is responsible for the management of food pipelines, distribution plans, claims, data entry and payment requests for the transportation and storage of food products, and reporting. He/she will ensure communication with various partners, including freight forwarders, controllers and transporters. The Commodities Manager will ensure that products are managed in accordance with Counterpart and US government regulations and procedures especially the 7CFR1599 and the 7CFR1590. The Commodities Manager will supervise the activities of the LRP Officer, especially the procurement, the distribution and capacity strengthening activities of district government actors in commodity management.
