  • Overview

    Counterpart International is currently seeking a Chief of Party for the implementiaotno of  the anticipated USAID-funded Regional Civil Society Project/Central Asia, to promote civic engagement in local communities and government responsiveness in Central Asia. This position is contingent upon award of the program. Nationals within the Central Asia Region of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities

    Responsible for overall project leadership, management, technical direction, oversight, and quality, and maintaining relationships with USAID and stakeholders. Requires experience in senior-level program management with USAID or other donors.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Master’s degree in International Development, Organizational Development, Public Policy or other relevant areas of study;

    Experience:

    • Significant experience working on civil socity projects, civil society strengthening, and civic engagement (capacity building, organizational development, advocacy, coalition-building, public policy) preferably in Central Asia;
    • Demonstrated experience in working effectively in advanced, complex, politically sensitive activities;
    • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Government personnel, international organizations, NGOs partners, host country governments;;
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as Chief of Party for civil society; 
    • Previous experience managing USAID-funded programs highly preferred;  

    Languages:

    • Fluency in English and Russian required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required.
