  • Overview

    Counterpart International is seeking to hire a Program Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the Program Unit while working closely with her/his partners of the Participacion Civica project.

     

    The Program Assistant will report to the Program Manager.  This is a locally based position open to Guatemalan citizens.

    Responsibilities

    • Work under the supervision of the Program Manager providing technical assistance required either from Civil Society Organizations and or Government institutions engaged in transparency, anti-corruption and accountability initiatives.
    • Assist the Project’s Programs Unit in reviewing technical reports and activities submitted by CSO grantees.
    • Assist in organizing project events, training sessions, workshops, field visits, and other activities, as required
    • Collect information and provide inputs for the preparation of periodic Project reports
    • Assist in interacting and communicating with CSOs and Government Institutions.
    • Assist in gathering performance data and supporting evidence relevant to the Project’s Monitoring & Evaluation duties
    • Participate in documenting implementation successes, challenges and lessons learned.
    • Play a lead role in the administrative matters of the Programs Unit.
    • Conduct other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or similar.
    • Preferred of three (3) years of experience in similar positions.
    • Sensitivity and social commitment to working with vulnerable groups: Indigenous people, women, youth, people with disabilities and LBGTI.
    • Experience in conducting participatory methodologies and gathering data and information.
    • Prior experience in working with international organizations, academia or CSOs, a plus
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in a multifaceted and interdisciplinary team environment
    • English fluency preferred; Spanish fluency required
    • Excellent writing and reporting skills
